Outside Lands Festival Rumors

by Kathy Davis on April 10, 2009

Shay Quillen, writer for San Francisco Bay Area newspaper the San Jose Mercury News blogs about PJ possibly headlining the Outside Lands Festival in August:

Last night at the Green Day show, I chatted with a guy who said he works for Pearl Jam. According to this gentleman, whose name I didn’t get in the mayhem, the headliners for this year’s Outside Lands Festival are (drum roll please) …

Friday: Pearl Jam

Saturday: Dave Matthews Band (we figured that)

Sunday: Beastie Boys

The lineup is supposed to be officially announced Monday at the festival’s site, but I’ll let you know if anyone in the know confirms or debunks my info before then.

A reminder: This year’s festival, the second installment, will take place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Aug. 28-30.

The official Outside Lands Website will post the preliminary lineup on Monday April 13.  Their Twitter Feed is here.  A chance to play Golden Gate Park after the famously aborted Polo Fields Show in ’95? Rock!
