Boys Love Baseball

According to this post at CBSSports.com,  Ed was at Safeco field in Seattle Friday May 22 for the Mariners vs. San Francisco Giants game.  Pitching for the Giants was former Mariner Randy “The Big Unit” Johnson, who pitched for them from 1989-1998.  Mr. Johnson is 2 games away from logging his 300the career win.

A group hug from the crowd of 38,520 — some 12,000 more than Seattle’s 2009 average — filling the joint in anticipation of seeing Johnson and Ken Griffey Jr. together on the same Seattle field for the first time since July 20, 1999. The only killjoy in the building was Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu, who drained some drama from the evening by withholding Griffey, now a part-timer, from the starting lineup.

In the stands were some 30 family and friends of Johnson’s, including wife Lisa, their children and members of a couple of his favorite rock bands, Pearl Jam — including Eddie Vedder — and Soundgarden.

Could the Soundgarden member have been Matt?  That would cover both the bases, eh?  ::ducking::
