Update: No Ed at the 8 x 10 w/Hannan

by Kathy Davis on June 15, 2009

This just in from Baltimore Sun reporter Sam Sessa just posted this tidbit:

I have it on good authority that grunge icon Eddie Vedder will make a guest appearance at The 8×10 tonight to sit in with Jerry Hannan and the Decades.

Vedder is in town as part of his solo tour, and will perform a second night at the Lyric Opera House tonight. He and Hannan recorded the critically acclaimed song “Society” together for Sean Penn’s 2007 film Into the Wild.

In fact, I hear that Hannan is going to sit in with Vedder at the Lyric, and then Vedder is headed to South Baltimore for a song or two with Hannan.

Nice!

UPDATE:  Sam Sessa posted a mea culpa on Ed’s lack of appearance at Jerry Hannan’s Baltimore show.

Sigh.

Despite reports that he might, Eddie Vedder did not show up to sit in with Jerry Hannan and the Decades at their show at The 8×10 last night. Hannan left the stage for a few minutes around 11:30 p.m., and when he came back, he broke the bad news.   “I’m pretty sure he’s on his bus right now on the way to Nashville,” Hannan said.  Sorry for giving all you Pearl Jam fans some false hope. I’ll write more about the show after I’ve had some coffee.

Red Mosquito user Riot Actor was at the 8 x 10 and also confirms Ed was a no show.  It would have been cool, but…didn’t happen.
