Thick Pix: More Official Photos + 1

by Kathy Davis on August 6, 2009

Score! Pearl Jam’s Official Flickr photo account has all four Backspacer promo photos available, two by Danny Clinch and two by the most excellent Steve Gullick (finally we know who took them- yay!)  TwoFeetThick.com has previously posted three of these photos, the two Danny Clinch here and here, and the Steve Gullick here.   I love Gullick’s work; he released a fantastic book of photos entitled Pop Book Number One in 1995 that feature some amazing Ed pix.

So below is one more promo photo from PearlJam Offical Flickr, plus one we found poking around Mr. Gullick’s site. Terribly nice…enjoy!

Mystery solved:  it IS a Rainbow shirt that Mike is wearing! :)

It IS Rainbow…so what do I win?? :)

Now that I see it clearly, I think it refers to Eric Clapton’s Rainbow Concert, not Blackmore’s band, looks like the same font as the album cover (reference suitable only for those who didn’t require an ID on Felix the Cat!!)

From a photographic standpoint, that top photograph is woeful.
The subjects have the sun in their eyes and are forced to wear sunglasses. You can’t see most of Jeff’s face for his cap. But…

….the worst thing? The photographer’s shadow is in the photograph! (See bottom left corner). These guys get paid a mint to do a job, but not necessarily to do it properly. (I’m a photo geek; things like this annoy me.)
