But didn't you always wish PJ made the greatest album of all time? Isn't that why some of us keep holding on after all these years?? I am 35. I heard Ten on release day. I met EdVed when I was 18 before going to college at Lollapalooza 2 when they were about to be the biggest band on earth. The greatest moment of my life, when everything was in front of me. As life played out through the years, I have always come back to them - through good and bad. The majority of their songs have always spoken to me. Ed has always spoken to me. Their fault may be they have always tried to play to too many people. I think they got close with this record. I think they have a very good, if not great song, for all the different possible listeners. They are the soundtrack to my life. I have lurked on these sites for years, but have never been compelled to post until this album. I don;t know if it's age or experience, or what - but I feel very proud of this band right now, They continue to make music that moves me - and others after 20 years. Who else does that these days?? What band out there now can carry that torch? That said, I'm still waiting for them to be our Beatles. They seem to always be one or two songs away. But I can say that I will take any PJ album full of passion, and life, and emotion, and humanity, over just about anything out there...

Your point is mute at best. I have nothing against the guy, I'd just personally rather stear away from his reviews, posts, and his attempt at dominance over the sky i scrape, is all.

I would like to comment on the comments. Blogs are published documents for
the general public. Message forums are different. The people who post are taking part in an interactive conversation, and express views today, which they may not hold tomorrow. It is a highly energizing and rewarding experience for the people who participate, and an amusing read for those who do not. The collision of ideas and personalities can seem like a train wreck at times. However, because of the intimate yet public nature of forums, I think it is cruel to critique a poster's reviews by using remarks made in another context. The context? Interacive and ever evolving. Stip has a thick skin and does not need support; but for whatever it's worth, that is "this poster's" take on things.

Stip’s reviews are generally very well thought out. I don’t always agree with him, but he has very solid reasoning behind his views. To be honest, I give more weight to his reviews than most magazine or newspaper reviews. Now his political views are suspect at best, but he does A+ work when it comes to PJ.

Thanks! Good stuff.

(although I'm not much of a fan of Stip's reviews...haha, I bet he mentioned how great Given to Fly and Worldwide Suicide are somewhere in his review..... or how Puzzles and Games is so much better than Light Years... Did he mention his distaste for Off He Goes, that's a popular one. Lastly, after every positive thing he says about PJ, he HAS TO follow it with something negative. EVERYTIME! So I usually avoid his reviews like the plague. Thank's, just had to get that off my chest.)
