Digital radio station Absolute Classic Rock has been given the exclusive worldwide rights to broadcast Pearl Jam’s August gig at the O2 arena in London. The show will be played in full on the station this Friday (October 2) from 7pm as part of Pearl Jam week on Absolute Classic Rock.
The gig will be part of the station’s first anniversary celebrations, marking a year since it re-branded from Virgin Radio Classic Rock. Pearl Jam week also includes Pearl Jam double plays at midday and 4pm with Russ Williams and Leona Graham, while the station has been playing tracks from the band’s latest album Backspacer.
Announcement from the station’s website says:
It’s not just Absolute Radio’s birthday, it’s our birthday too, and we’re celebrating it on with a world exclusive. You can hear Pearl Jam’s amazing performance at the O2, in full with no interruptions. Tune in on Friday 2 October at 7pm.
