Eddie Vedder Salutes Bruce Springsteen

by John Reynolds on December 7, 2009

As previously reported, Eddie Vedder was one of many artists who honored Bruce Springsteen Sunday night at the 32nd Annual Kennedy Center Honors in Washington D.C.

Many music news outlets, including Rolling Stone, have reported on the night in detail, and here is the full Bruce honoree set:

  • Ron Kovic, author of Born on the 4th of July (speech)
  • John Mellencamp – “Born in the USA”
  • Ben Harper – “My Father’s House”
  • Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland) – “Glory Days”
  • Jennifer Nettles & Ben Harper – “I’m On Fire”
  • Melissa Etheridge – “Born To Run”
  • Eddie Vedder – “My City of Ruins” – acoustic, w/Gospel Choir
  • Sting – “The Rising” – w/Gospel Choir

The Honors Gala will be recorded for broadcast on the CBS Network for the 32nd consecutive year as a two-hour primetime special on Tuesday, December 29 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT). With all these performances – and the other honorees – let’s hope all these great performances including Ed’s are included in the telecast.

The trouble with Britney is always the same. She is an awesome talent. It is so sad to have to see her spurn it getting caught up in all that bad garbage. She should get along to rehabilitation, or get into a clinic, or get a more competent coach. Will she tour in future? I’d like to see her perform, her performances are simply terrific.
