Rarely in their near 20-year history have reviewers ever claimed that Pearl Jam put their listeners to sleep. The website RockabyeBaby.com, though, is trying to do that – in a good way!
Many long-time fans (this author included) are trying to pass on their Pearl Jam music tastes to their younger generation. What better way to start, than in the crib! This may seem a bit extreme – similar to 1993′s “Grunge Lite” featuring elevator music renditions of Seattle favorites, including “Even Flow” – but to some, the existence of Pearl Jam lullaby music would be therapeutic for both parent and child.
We couldn’t ignore this recent fan mail from Jeff Klima
“My daughter Giada was born prematurely at 27 weeks and timed it perfectly to coincide with the four Philly shows last year; but I will not hold that against her….at least not until she is a teenager
…..She ended up being born on October 31st and is the world to me and my wife. She is doing much better now…..hopefully rounding up her stay in the NICU (Natal Intensive Care Unit) with a homecoming sometime this month. While visiting her in the NICU I found a site called Rockabye Baby which sold lullaby renditions of various musical groups/artists from the past several decades. While I was delighted to share about a dozen of these CDs with Giada to keep her comfy during her stay in the hospital, there was a certain (high) level of disappointment that PJ was not included in the lineup of available artists…..considering they are, in my humble opinion, the best band of this or any generation….
I noticed this week that Rockabye Baby is having a poll to see which artist they should add next to their lineup next. PJ is amongst the candidates. After my own grass roots effort yesterday, PJ is now in first place leading the RHCP by 3 votes.
The poll is on the right side….If you choose to share this with the legions of devout PJ fans over the world, this dad would greatly appreciate it. I don’t think Giada is ready for her first show just yet, but she is definitely ready for her first PJ album….even if it is just lullabys.”
At the time of this writing, Pearl Jam is #1 in the voting with 28%.

I’m an insomniac and PJ has helped tremendously in that department. I just keep it a very low volume.
when i was a seventh grader i used to start ten at garden, and i would pass out by the end of release every time. two years later it was indifference. It stopped by the third album, because sexymamajammermophandle would give me nightmares.
Around The Bend is *already* a lullaby!
I got the TOOL version at my baby shower yesterday…saw the PJ voting and was going to email you guys…WAY TO BE ON TOP OF ALL THAT IS PJ!
