Hawaii Two-O: Second Video “Can’t Keep” Released

by John Reynolds on May 31, 2011

To celebrate the release of Eddie Vedder’s Ukulele Songs, the official “Can’t Keep” video has been released.  A video for the first single “Longing To Belong” was released on May 4.  Tons of Eddie Vedder merch is for sale on Pearl Jam’s site, as well as some exclusive Best Buy offers.

Shot in Hawaii, the video is very basic, with the semi-suited Vedder singing atop a rocky perch as varying levels of closeness – from a few feet to a panning helicopter view – evoke the lyrics to the opener on Ukulele Songs. Ultimately the 2:46 video shouldn’t be over-interpreted. Like presumably many ukulele songs, it’s sung facing the ocean, shunning the mundane reality of the mainland.
