The band that formed around the nucleus of Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready and Eddie Vedder may have come together and played its first show in October of 1990, but “Pearl Jam” was officially born on the same day that Jeff celebrated his 28th birthday — exactly 20 years ago today: March 10, 1991.
We crunched all 20 years of show location data in the Concert Chronology to create this heat map of where Pearl Jam has played in North America and how often.
Exactly 20 years ago this weekend, a Texas high-schooler named Jeremy ended his life tragically and “Jeremy,” one of Ten’s classic songs, was born.
